Hello everyone.

I signed up today, (thanks Karen, for sorting out my login issues) and have noticed that there doesn't seem to be a "say hello" type thread, so I thought I'd start one!

My name is John, as you can probably tell from my username, and I am a 45 year old geek/computer enthusiast/teacher. I'm really glad to be here, and hope that I can get some useful tips, and hopefully offer some help to everyone here.

OK, that's it for now so I'll open it up to you guys to introduce yourselves!

:)

The Hello Thread

Hi John,

Thanks for joining the forums and introducing yourself. The introductions thread is a good idea.

There are quite a few of us geeks and so I'm sure you will fit in. :)

By way of introductions, I am one of the creators of the Shoot 'Em Up Kit and spend my time developing and supporting the product.

I look forward to chatting more on the forums.

Thanks,
John

Hi Vella

Good to have you on board.

We're a small community, (at the moment) but friendly and helpful.

SEUK is a smashing program for creating dynamic, fast moving games with near endless possibilities and John is committed to development and promotion. The future is looking good with added functionality in every regular update.

I'll leave it at that for the time being. I promised myself I'd stay away from the computer today.

kind regards,
miki.

Hello world

Hi ! I am a 35 years old SHMUP fan from France.

I had a versus SHMUP game concept dream 15 years ago and since that time i have been trying to make it true. But the solution i tried then were either too limited (Remember Klik & Play ?) or too complex to master (Flash MX) since i am working by myself. Now, the technologies have evolved and with your kit, i believe i have finally met the right tool to achieve my dream !
So i am really greatful for it's existance and the work you have been doing.

I bought the kit a few weeks ago from steam and really enjoying it so far. It's also a great pleasure to feel the presence of the developpers behind us users on the forum.
I have asked many questions on Steam already and i am pleased to have great and fast replies : honest, precise and enthusiastic.
As i don't want to flood the steam forum, maybe it would be better if i put my next questions on this forum instead ?

Once again, i thank you for this kit and i look forward to finishing my game in your care !

Hello World

Hi Djio,

Thank you for the introduction. It's great to have you here on the forums.

I'm really pleased you are enjoying the Shoot 'Em Up Kit. From the questions you have been asking it sounds like you are making a great game. Co-op shmups are always a lot of fun. :)

It is up to you where you post questions. We have some long threads of questions on both the Steam forums and this one. We seem to find most people visit both forums anyway. But the advantage with this forum is that you can include pictures, which can sometimes be very helpful.

Thanks again,
John

Salutations my fellow forum members!

Hello there.

I'm a 33 year old game artist from northern Sweden. Long time Shoot 'Em Up fan and a hardcore gamer since I was five years old.
Have spent a few hours in front of this software now and I really like it. Hopefully I will create some really awesome games on my spare time and perhaps earn an extra buck or two.

I've used Unreal Engine for my personal projects before and I'm using Unity3D at work. They are nice engines and all but I've dreamed of creating a Shoot 'Em Up game for a long time now and when I found this software on Steam I just had to have it. Also, I'm an artist and not a master coder. If I can limit the scripting I do in my spare time to what I do in Maya, then I would be really happy.

I must try to remember the Steam forums when I'm searching for stuff. Thanks for reminding me.

:D

Hello. I had not seen this

Hello.

I had not seen this post and know it's a bit old, but anyway...
I'm Nacho, and as my nickname says, I'm from Spain.
I've never been able to forget the true arcade games and I guess that's why I'm here.

Greetings to all!

Hi El_español,

Welcome - It's great to have you here.

I love the true arcade games too. There is a purity of gameplay with the classic arcade games which is often lost with modern titles. Classic arcade games had a simple set of controls and achieved a level of depth with just a few core ideas.

It's great to see you sharing questions with the group; and I look forward to helping you create some true arcade games.

Thanks,
John

Hi from SLC Utah,U.S.

Hi, I'm loving the program, just making some steady progress now. My goal is to use it to make traditional horizontal and vertical shmups ie. Gradius/dodonpachi.
In a few hours I'll find a file server and post links to my project files for perusal, bug fixing, examples, advice, etc.
Thanks for working on the program, the excellent correspondence, and everything else!!!

Hi from Hamburg, Germany!

Hello everybody, hi Karen, hi John!

I bought the SEUK yesterday after a long time of stalking the forums here and on Steam :) I'm pretty impressed with the way you handle requests and questions, John and Karen - although I don't normally buy Early Access software, this was the deciding factor for me to finally make the purchase.
I'm looking forward to chatting with you guys and to learning to make awesome shmups :D

Cheers,
Michael
