Hi Suresh and Nick,

Thank you for the question. We are close to having this available and I expect to have a public beta version of the iOS and Android platforms available within the next 2 months.

The iOS and Android export has taken more time than we originally estimated because it made sense to do the Mac, Linux and DirectX 11 ports at the same time. We're also hoping to support some formats that we can't announce yet too - but we're sure you will find exciting. ;)

We appreciate your patience on this feature and we'll keep you informed of our progress.

Thanks again,
John

Hi Nick,

The Multi-platform version (Android and iOS compatible) is our top priority - aside from behind bug fixing - for a number of reasons. Lots of people are wanting this feature which we have been promising for some time; we've got a few features which are tied-in to the new version of the engine; a Mac and Linux version of the Shoot 'Em Up Kit will be able to follow shortly after; and more reasons that we can't share just yet. :)

We're just battling with the 'last 10%' syndrome where we've been feeling that we're nearly complete for some time. We've made a few decisions recently to help speed things up (putting on hold a few engine upgrades which were to be part of the process) and I really hope we can make an announcement in the next few weeks.

Thanks,
John

Hi Suresh,

Thank you for checking on the progress on the apk and ios update.

We have made a lot of progress on these features and it remains one of our highest priorities. Our work has been slowed by some bug reports which we have had to resolve. This improves the apk and ios version too, of course. :)

We still need to reduce the memory usage for mobile/tablet games as each entity (ship, bullet, scenery) stores more information than it should. A lot of data can be shared amongst the entities. The other task we have still to complete is the audio playback.

We hope to be making some announcements soon and we will invite the community to try a beta version as soon as it is ready. My best guess is that the beta will be available in 12 weeks.

We apologise for these features taking so long. I can assure you that we're working hard to make these formats available.

Thanks again,
John

Hi Nick,

Thanks for asking. The Android and iOS versions are still progressing. We'd hoped to have the versions ready by now (at least as a strong Beta). We've been slowed down a little by maintenance of the Shoot 'Em Up Kit which is seeing improved Editor, AI, and Particle Systems which will benefit the Android and iOS versions too. The Editor changes reduce the memory required by games which is particularly important for mobile devices.

The SDK we are using has also received a major update and so we're moving over to the new version to gain all the improvements contained in the new version.

Everything is moving forward and we're eager to show games running on iOS and Android. We hope we're just a few weeks away from this.

Thanks again,
John
