Hi,

I've just read through the updates for V2.014 on Steam - wow, it looks amazing :)

Can it be bade available to download from here too?

Thanks,

Nick.

RE:V2.0.14

It's ok - no hurry - I finally activated the steam key you provided me with over a year ago !

Quick question - how do you remove the particles from an object - it used to be in effects section of an object but I can't find it now (probably me being thick!)

Cheers,

Nick

BTW - loving the new update :)

2.0.14

Hi Nick,

Version 2.0.14 is now available on the Tall Studios site but I'm pleased you've got it anyway.

The particles are still triggered in the Effects tab of an object. A few of the effects can cause particles to be emitted constantly (such as Alive or Damage 0-25) so it might be worth checking the events. If this isn't the case then please let me know and I will look into it.

Many Thanks,
John

Strange - on the shape wars

Strange - on the shape wars project when I select player I see the effects tab, but on my owl little test project I don's see the effects tab!
Possibly something I'm doing wrong.

Thanks,

Nick.

2.0.14

Hi Nick,

I'm sorry - I missed the obvious answer.

One of the new features in 2.0.14 is that items you place in the level are copies of the items in the Entity Editor. This makes it a lot easier to place a collection of enemy in a level and then go back to the Entity Editor and tweak some settings that will affect all the items in the level. It is also more memory efficient as only one copy is stored if an entity is used multiple times.

Because of this the Effects, Collision, Sprite, Model and Material tabs have been removed from the items in the Level Editor and there is a link back to the original Entity in the Level Editor next to the Entity name (the arrow button marked in the image).

If you don't want the item in your level to be an Instance of the Entity in the Entity Editor then you can click the [X] button marked in the image to break the link. The item will then behave like the map items did in previous versions of the Shoot 'Em Up Kit, or like the items in Shape Wars.

Thanks,
John

Thanks for clearing that up :)

Looking forward to experimenting with the kit over the Christmas break.

Cheers,
